It sucks.... I hate censorship! It makes me feel like a little girl, getting detentions every week for using "dirty" language at school! (of course, never happened to me... lol)

(of course, never happened to me... lol) Hm...so flagging probably occurs because: 1) User is "spamming" (or contributing "too" much)  2) Post is possibly "obscene" (contains trigger words like "Island Records," "censorship," or "sucks" (or words that rhyme with "suck"...) 3) Board is still having technical difficulties, after the rush job they had in putting it up. Or perhaps it is a combination of all three. And you have to be especially careful posting on Thursdays after 3pm Greenwich Mean Time, since any posts that exceed 692 characters may be suspect to post meltdown, in which case every seventh word of your post is replaced with an arbitrary mathematical character. |

Not to be overly critical of the new official forum but you can't cuss, you can't do searches, you can't review the member list, you can't quote other posts, the moderator doesn't appear to be a real person and for all we know is a island records bot, if something "offensive" is posted it may be removed or you may be banned.....whatever happened to "if you don't like it then FUCK YOU man!".....whatever happened to FUCK CENSORSHIP? It seems to me that island has failed to recognize what attracted people (me at least) to Terra's music and board to begin with......the rawness and openess of the discussions on the old board, the cry of "the fucking phone rang during my performance!" and the gleeful smurk as it was stated "I hope you enjoyed my one nite stand....I know I sure did" ......and, I'm not paying rent until .....THEY PUT A JACUZZI IN MY BEDROOM......hehehehe....here on the Terra Naomi show it's all about keepin it real
I miss that stuff, I really enjoyed everything Terra released last summer and being a part of her "old" forum, I miss her taking part in her forum and sharing tidbits of her adventures and making comments on ours.
I hope she chooses to take part in the new forum and I hope they upgrade it to be more user friendly, right now, I think the new forum has potential, but it is pretty bland as is.......

mmmm maybe so but your second message did'nt het notified maybe my setting are wrong or something, ah well. I'm starting to feel its all a bit big brother like. people can click on your post number and get a complete list of everything you've posted. A bit too detailed if you ask me....

Are you getting any notifications at all? Maybe it's being picked up by your ISPs SPAM filter if you aren't getting any notifications at all.
As for seeing all messages that you've posted, that's not unusual. You could do that on the old forum through a simple search. It's not quite big brother, as anybody can do it, not just a select few "controllers". After all, they are public postings - if big brother was looking, then he would be directing his attention to your private messages (one reason why direct email is better than doing it via the message board if the contents are sensitive).
To me, the atmosphere isn't quite right yet - maybe because we haven't seen Terra yet and also those damned redundant but still looming "obscenities will be removed" warnings.

Nope, definitely doesn't feel like home. But what's wrong? Why can't we make it work like this website, which has been such a nice home for us for about three months or more??? Something's just too... Neat.
